I do agree that Conan isn't funny. The part I tend to disagree with is the premise that at some point in time Conan was funny. I never really thought he was. But that's just me.

I don't watch any of the talk shows anymore with any regularity. I usually scroll through the guide for the week and just see who the guests are and then watch if I'm interested in the guest.
Although, I still do find Conan funny in his interviews with his guests. Kimmel too, but the others not so much. And can't get into that new guy on the talk show circuit, James Corden, even when he has guests that I wanna see. I find myself listening for a few minutes then usually just delete it
It's not our fault you Germans aren't funny. If it makes you feel any better I have been jerking off to some German porn recently. Not the poop kind though.

but anyway yeah conan still does have some good interviews but he is trying to hard to fit into this new generation,i think he is staying far from what made him good in the first place
What? Germans seem like such a light hearted people.
Whenever someone says Conan isn't a funny guy/they don' like him, I can't imagine me and that person ever getting along or agreeing on anything.
Actually, the minority of people that don't find him humorous, I have a question, who do you find funny? Jay Leno?

i never found conan to be funny. i do find his clueless gamer segments to be funny at times, but he just plays this role of perverted uncle that gets old fast. a lot of his skits are also just over the top that i lose interest.
that said, i'd still rather watch him than fallon. fallon isn't funny, has no charisma, tries to latch onto his guests' popularity, and i swear he has some kind of brain damage.
talk show hosts in general arent really that funny

Leno left while still under contract to NBC which was planned so he couldn't go elsewhere. Since Leno was agreeable, NBC tried having Leno do an earlier show to provide a lead in when Conan took over. Ratings dropped and NBCs primetime ratings were already low. NBC tried to get Conan to make changes because it is a different audience in that time slot. Conan refused. NBC asked Leno to come back until they could find someone else and asked Conan to go back to his former time slot. Conan and fans were butthurt and Conan quit. NBC graciously bought out his contract which allowed him to and sign with TBS. NBC could have prevented Conan from being on another network but they didn't feel it was necessary as he wouldn't provide any real competition in that time slot. It seems they were correct.
Conan should have gone back to his former time slot where his fans watched him. Networks always assume that viewers of a show will follow it as they move the time slot to increase ratings on a certain night or use it as a lead in for other programs. Viewers don't always do that.

So Conan knew he was getting the Tonight show for 7 years but didn't have enough time to get the show off the ground? Every previous change wasn't a big change at the time. Jack Parr took over from Steve Allen. Johnny merged in from Jack Parr and guest hosts when the show was done live. Leno was selected from several guest hosts. Johnny wasn't all that thrilled about leaving either. He had demanded more and more time off so there were often guest hosts and eventually they started re-running shows. Jay Leno also wanted more and more time off eventually leading to his retirement. Most of us tend to look forward to retirement but won't be ready for it when it comes.

The sketches seem to be better recently, at least the ones posted to his Youtube page. I often miss the show on TBS due to delayed viewing of everything else on that night.

Conans youtube channel is absolutely hilarious. I'm on it pretty frequently. I think conan is and always has been the best in the business. His comedy is more my style compared the the Lenos and Lettermans, and even compared to the new generation guys. He stays current as well. I think it's pretty interesting that he resonates so well with a younger demographic too.
All that said... I never watch his actual show. It's on too fucking late!
